Books I can't wait for

I'll be honest, for some reason the past week I have been really slow at reading anything. Maybe it's the weather, maybe it's because I have just read so many really great books that this one just can't quite hold me the way the other ones did. I any case, I feel like a slacker that I haven't posted a review in a few days. So, even though I am having a slight reading lull, I think I am going to talk about some books that I am excited about that are coming out in the next few weeks. (maybe it will get me excited enough to come out of it)

Crossed by Ally Condie
  • Pub. Date: November 1 2011
  • Publisher: Penguin Young Readers Group
  • Format: Hardcover , 384pp (will also be available as e-book and audio book)
Overview from B&N

The hotly awaited second book in the dystopian Matched trilogyIn search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.
Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.

I really enjoyed the first one, and have been waiting for this to come out. With the way Matched ended how can I not need to read this one and know what comes next.

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting
  • Pub. Date: November 15 2011
  • Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books
  • Format: Hardcover , 336pp (will also be available in e-book)
Overview from B&N
In the violent country of Ludania, the language you speak determines what class you are, and there are harsh punishments if you forget your place—looking a member of a higher class in the eye can result in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina (Charlie for short) can understand all languages, a dangerous ability she’s been hiding her whole life. Her only place of release is the drug-filled underground club scene, where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. There, she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy who speaks a language she’s never heard, and her secret is almost exposed. Through a series of violent upheavals, it becomes clear that Charlie herself is the key to forcing out the oppressive power structure of her kingdom….

This book sounds absolutely intriguing and I am highly anticipating the release of this one. I have the pleasure of being a part of The Pledge Street Team to promote this book and I am very excited to go out and get others to want to read this book. Hopefully I am able to get others as excited as I am for it.

"You can't touch me," I whisper.

I'm lying, is what I don't tell him.

He can touch me, is what I'll never tell him.

But things happen when people touch me.

Strange things.

Bad things.

No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal, but The Reestablishment has plans for her. Plans to use her as a weapon.

But Juliette has plans of her own.

After a lifetime without freedom, she's finally discovering a strength to fight back for the very first time—and to find a future with the one boy she thought she'd lost forever.

This was my Waiting on Wednesday post a few weeks back, so as you can tell, I really want to read this. The Facebook page had a Shatter Day event where they posted a chapter every hour for 24 hours, and I read up to chapter 23. I am so hooked and need to read the rest.

There are other great books that are coming out in the next few weeks, but these are the ones I am very much looking forward to and have already pre-ordered. I love when new books are coming out that I really want. I get so excited. What books are coming out in the next few weeks that you are really looking forward to? I would love to see what everyone else is waiting to read.
