Example of bad customer service

I am so sorry I have been slacking on my blog this week. I have had no internet since Saturday. I called my internet provider and they said they were shipping a new modem and I would receive it in 3 to 5 days. By Wednesday I was getting antsy and called again. I was told its shipped and to expect it Friday, which is today. So no modem yet. I call again today, and the guy tells me the modem is still pending and hasn't left their warehouse. Really?!! A week and its still not shipped, and I have been told it was! Not happy. At all. So he tells me they can send a technician out on Tuesday. Now I am getting super angry. After trying to be civil with him, since its really not his fault he says he can get a tech here tomorrow between 8 and 12. There goes my Saturday, which is also my daughters 3rd Birthday.
This is just unacceptable service. Its horrible they never sent it, and even worse that they lied about it. I have now discovered that if you complain about the providers service on twitter there are reps who will respond and help you. I think the twitter reps are more helpful than the ones on the phone. I am sorry for the rant, but hopefully all of my awesome followers understand I can only do so much from my phone. I really need to get a laptop, then I could go to my area bookstores and use their Wifi.
On a brighter note I went to a book signing for the Steampunk anthology last night and met the amazing Cassandra Clare, Kelly Link, and Gavin Grant. Also there was Elka Cloke, who wrote the Thames River Song poem that is in the begining of Clockwork Angel. They are all amazing, nice, and funny. I will be doing a blog post about it soon. I also have some reviews to post, and a giveaway planned.
Again I apologize for my lack of blog posts, and visiting other blogs. I hope this all gets sorted out quickly. I hope you all will be patient with me. Lots of love to all of you.

  1. You did not say who your provider was. I get the same kind of internet service from my cable company. I even left them and used an air card for 3 years. I only came back because video use was restricted on the air card.

  2. I was trying to be nice, by not saying who the provider is. I have now finally gotten my internet restored, but it was ridiculous what they put me through.

  3. That is just wrong. I hate when they tell you something that isn't the truth. In their mind they think it will keep you happy when in th long run it just makes you 10 times more angry! :-( I hope that the tech is actually coming today and that you can get your modem back so you can get into the swing of things. Happy 3rd b-day to your daughter too! :-D

  4. The tech actually showed up at 8:20am which was really surprising since they are usually at the end of the time slot. He got the new modem all hooked up and running pretty quick. Thank you for the happy birthday wishes.
