Last Thursday I went to a book signing for Steampunk at Odyssey Bookstore, a local bookstore in the area. I was really excited. Cassandra Clare, Kelly Link, and Gavin Grant were all there. I have to admit I was actually pretty nervous because Cassandra Clare is like a celebrity to me. I absolutely love her books, and she is one of my favorite authors. I knew I would be completely starstruck by her and was worried I would babble like an idiot. (which I did) There was no need at all for me to worry though. She is so amazing and down to earth. She even asked me about some books I would recommend her to read. ( and wrote them down on her arm) Kelly, and Gavin were really nice too, and it was so awesome to meet them too. Gavin even played with a puppet behind Kelly while she was taking a pic of me and Cassie together.
I was really surprised there were not many people there at all. I think that our epic October snowstorm had a lot to do with that, since at the time there were still a lot of people with no power. I was glad that there weren't a lot of people because I got to chat with all of them for longer than I would have been able to if it had been crowded. I was like a little kid giddy with excitement, and I am sure that as soon as I left they were thinking that I was a nutcase, but it was a great experience. I am so glad that I got to meet all of them. They signed my Steampunk book, and the back of my Nook. It was really an amazing night!

I have a picture of Cassie and I, but since I don't know if she would want it posted, I am going to leave it out. I hope that she will be back at Odyssey Bookstore for Clockwork Prince. She told me she probably would be. I also got an extra copy signed by all of them to give away to one lucky person. There is no need to follow my blog to enter. (though if you want to it gets you an extra entry) I love followers, but I want people to follow my blog because they want to, not just because of a giveaway.
