Waiting on Wednesday #4

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine

My WoW this week is The Pledge, which is good because I don't have to wait too long for it. It comes out on Tuesday 11/15/11

  • Pub. Date: November 2011
  • Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books
  • Format: Hardcover , 336pp
Overview from B&N
In the violent country of Ludania, the language you speak determines what class you are, and there are harsh punishments if you forget your place—looking a member of a higher class in the eye can result in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina (Charlie for short) can understand all languages, a dangerous ability she’s been hiding her whole life. Her only place of release is the drug-filled underground club scene, where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. There, she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy who speaks a language she’s never heard, and her secret is almost exposed. Through a series of violent upheavals, it becomes clear that Charlie herself is the key to forcing out the oppressive power structure of her kingdom….

This book just sounds really awesome, and I have heard great reviews on it. I have this pre-ordered and am excitedly waiting for Tuesday for it to come out.

  1. Sadly I didn't like this one very much but a few of my friends have loved it. Hope you're in the latter :)

  2. I hope so too. It's always so disappointing when you are looking forward to something and it just doesn't do it for you.

  3. Great pick, I am a huge Kimberly Derting fan. I recently finished The Pledge and really enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy it as well!

  7. I haven't read this yet, but I looooved her Body Finders series so this is a definite auto-acquire(:

  8. I hope it's as good as I have heard. The cover is great, and the synopsis makes it sound excellent.

My blog is now an award free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but stopping by is reward enough for me. Thank you so much!!

I have been getting a ridiculous amount of spam comments so I have disabled anonymous comments. If you are an anonymous user and a real person, I apologize.

I love comments! I will try to respond to as many as I can. I read every one of them, even if I do not respond to them all.
