Terrific Tuesday Guest!!

Today on my blog I am doing another guest post with another great friend! My friend Lauren from Some Reading Required is here with us today. She has just recently started a book blog and it's really fantastic. We knew each other before blogging and she is really a fun and wonderful person! lease stop by her blog and check it out. I think you will enjoy it too. Now onto the interview!

Lauren thanks so much for being on the blog today! Lets get started.

Your blog is brand new (and I love it btw). What made you want to start a blog?
Well it’s sort of an idea I’ve been tossing around for a while. I already have a news blogging site for CW’s The Secret Circle so I’m not completely new to the “blogging” world. I thought that having an online book blog would be a great way of connecting with other readers who share my same taste and excitement for awesome books. I need to give some credit to Book Loving Mom though because all her talk and excitement regarding her own blog, gave me the extra nudge I needed!

So far, what has been your favorite thing about having a blog?
Hmm, I’d have to say participating in my first meme (teaser Tuesdays). It was really fun to pick a tease of my own and then go and checkout others. I’ve already added some more books to my to-read list!

Anything that you haven't liked about it so far?
Not really, at least not yet; I’m still a newborn book blog and I’m just starting to get into the swing of things.

Has there been anything surprising that you have learned since starting your blog?
I was little worried in the beginning that the book blogging network would be hard to get into. However I was completely wrong! Everyone I’m come across has been completely welcoming and kind.

Is there an order that you read you books in, like making a list and trying to stick to it, or do you just pick them as you go?
Hah! List. I wish. I’ve been collecting a to-read list for a couple of years now but I tend to read my favorite book series’ sequels before anything else. Following book sequels, the other books I read tend to be new and highly recommended books. For example, although I’ve had Bloodlines on my nook for a couple weeks now, I just had to start Unearthly because it’s gained a lot of buzz.

Do you take notes when you read to help you when you review a book, or do you just do it from memory?
I’ve tried both and I’ve quickly realized that notes are the way to go. For the last book I read (Unearthly) whenever there was a thought or excerpt that I knew I wanted to comment on I scribbled down page numbers in a notebook.

Let's get to know more about you now.
Well… I’m a 21-year old full time college student. Although as I currently type these responses I’m still home for winter vacation. I’ve recently decided to switch my major to Sociology although I’m not a hundred percent sure what I want my career to be; I knew it was the right decision. If I’m not attending classes, doing homework, or sleeping than I’m most-definitely reading.  This past Christmas I treated myself to a nook color (my first electronic reader) and I’m completely in love. I still plan to purchase physical forms of my all-time favorite books, but for the rest I’ve made the switch to electronic. I don’t know what else really to say… In person I tend to appear very shy and quiet, but as my friends know the real me is very quirky and fun, and maybe a bit weird. J

What is your favorite color?

What is your favorite food/beverage?
My favorite beverage is Arizona green tea with ginseng and honey. Yum! It’s kind of a wide spectrum, but my favorite food is “sandwiches”. I could probably eat a sandwich 3 times a day/7 days a week if I had to. I just love the unending yummy possibilities!

What is your favorite movie?
The Labyrinth - I can’t tell you have many pets I named “Sarah” when I was a child.

What is your favorite season, and why?
Fall, not only because it contains my favorite holiday (Halloween), but because of crisp air and the smell of leaves. Fall just holds a comforting feeling for me.

Any special talents that you have?
Not that I’m aware of. Haha.

If you had to choose one of your senses to lose, which would it be?
Speaking.  Although I’d rather not lose any, it’d be more important to me to be able to hear and see.

Lets have some fun now. This or that.

Chocolate or Vanilla?

Cake or pie?
Mmm Pie.

Coffee or tea?

Heels or sneakers?
Sneakers for sure. I’m more into comfort than style.

Quiet night in or night on the town?
Some find it boring, but I’m definitely quiet night in type of girl.

Eat in or eat out?
If I’m cooking – out! Haha.

Big breakfast or quick and easy?
Quick & easy

Black or white?

And that wraps it up. Thanks so much for being a guest on my blog and answering my questions.
This was so much fun!! thank you for asking me to be a part of it :D
Go check out Lauren's Blog Some Reading Required if you get a chance.

  1. Welcome Lauren! After I submit this I'm off to check your blog out.

I take notes too. At first it felt like being back in school, but I find it makes it a lot easier when I sit down to write about a book. I have a reading notebook. Each book gets its own page and I write down quotes, questions I have, etc.

Sounds like you're getting off to a fantastic start!

    1. I have to takes little notes too, especially now that I get lazy and wait to write reviews. Right now I have 3 to write lol. If I didn't take notes I would get so confused. Lauren is an awesome friend! So glad she wanted to do this Q&A.

  2. Lauren sounds amazing. =) I will definitely check out her blog!!

    1. I think I am one of the only people who loves cliffhangers. I mean yes, they drive me crazy but I love the anticipation. I think it makes diving into the next book even more exciting.

  4.
