The Hunger Games Midnight Showing Recap

Happy Hunger Games!! Okay so I just want to start off by saying OMG!! It was even better than I was anticipating! I was so excited for the midnight showing and wanted so bad to make sure I got the most awesome seats, that I got to the theater at noon. No joke. I was the first person in line waiting to be seated and my friends got there a bit later to join me.

I don't want to go into the movie too much, but it was so fantastic. The reaping scene, completely ripped me apart. You could really feel their pain! The cast was all awesome and the acting was fantastic. I didn't think I could possibly love Jennifer Lawrence any more, but man was I wrong. She is the perfect Katniss. All of the actors they chose are perfect for their roles. I seriously can't even try to write a review without a million Squee's, awws, OMG's and just totally flailing fan girlness!! I'm am getting all excited and worked up about the movie again just thinking about it right now. I was intending to write a review, but I just can't do it. Nothing I say could even come close to explaining the epicness that this movie is. Yes, they changed a few things, it happens, but really it was just beyond awesome!! I felt every emotion right along with the characters. I was tense and on the edge of my seat. Okay, I am just totally babbling now. Just go see the movie is all I can say.

Onto the random pics from waiting in line. I don't have any shots of the whole line because it went from the theater and then out into the hall.

My awesome Hunger Games t-shirt from my friend Sharon!

Just sitting and waiting. First in line!!

Reading to pass the time. BTW it's a really good book so far.

The theater people gave me one of the movie posters. It's one of the actual double sided movie posters too, not one of the smaller ones.

Hunger Games Pin!!

I attempted to do the Katniss braid. It came out okay, but my hair is too short.

Passing time with a friendly game of Zombie Dice. (For the record I only lost one game, I am an awesome zombie! Braaains nom nom!!)

My friend got the Jaberjay game, but it was actually really confusing and we didn't end up playing. The cards are really cool though.

This was the line outside of the theater. There is more of a line from where this was taken, to the front where I was. I took this about an hour before they let us go in to be seated.

This is me and my friends. Almost time to go into the theater!

After the midnight showing, man was I exhausted. Spending all day at the theater, not getting home until after 3am, and then  waking up a little over 2 hours after going to sleep to take care of a toddler is very tiring. I would do it over again in a heart beat though! It was beyond worth it!! Also, we had the best people in out theater. We didn't have the whole screaming girls thing going on, which was very good. Our theater was filled with some pretty awesome people. So that is my recap of the Midnight Hunger Games!! If you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for?!!

  2. Noon? Wow! We got there 2 hours early, there were like 200 in line up before us and we still got great seats haha. But our tall is super small so I think the whole population was there basically >.< I agree about the movie too it was beyond amazing and the whole cast pas PERFECT. For once I Would not have changed anybody and they all fit what I imagined too. It's like they plucked the whole thing right out of my head it was awesome!! What's zombie dice? O_O Love your shirt too and your hair really looks like her from that angle! :D

    1. OMG!! Zombie Dice is so fun. You roll the dice and you can get either brains, gunshot, or they run away. Obviously you want brains. First zombie to get to 13 brains wins!! There's more to it than that, but that's the general idea. I did my hair sitting in line. I actually had my friend take a pic so I could see what it looked like. I think the hubs is going to see the movie with me again tonight!!

  3. Looks like you had a great time! :) I got to the theater about an hour early and we still got awesome seats right in the middle (the joys of living in a tiny town) but the theater was packed with more than 300 people and the audience was great :)The movie was beyond amazing! (Can't wait to see who they cast as Finnick for Catching Fire <3)
P.S. I need to get zombie dice asap!

    1. Midnight showings are exhausting, but it was totally worth it. I will only do them for something I am totally dying for like this. Most of the time I can wait for a day or two. I am definitely going to see it again though.

  5. Wow! You are really dedicated! I can't believe you got there at noon. It's really awesome the crowd was cool. I've had a few movies ruined by screaming girls. So happy you had a super time!

    1. My theater was mostly adults, so it was nice! I hate when I see a movie and other people ruin it. Like Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 I had to tell a girl to shut up because she was literally in hysterics, and I almost smacked the girl next to me who was texting for half the movie. Glad that there was no one like that for The Hunger Games.

  6. I thought they did a great job with the movie, but I need to see it again, I was a bit exhausted by the time the movie was over and probably missed some stuff. I did have some issues with it though, and you can read my review here: http://misclisa.blogspot.com/2012/03/first-impression-of-hunger-games-movie.html

    1. I totally agree with having to see it again. With all the excitement and hype for the midnight showing I think it's hard to take it all in. You are all geared up and over tired. I think I am going to see it again tonight.

I haven't seen The Hunger Games yet, sigh. I was planning to go this morning, but I ended up taking a parent to the doctor's instead. Maybe tomorrow! I'm so glad you had a good time and that you thought the movie was awesome. I can't wait to experience it myself! :)
