Waiting on Wednesday/WWW Wednesday 3-14-12

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine  to share what book you are highly anticipating the release of.

My pick for this week is TEN by Gretchen McNeil. Last year after reading Possess. I asked her on twitter what she was planning next. She had told me that TEN would be coming out in 2012. I have been really interested in it ever since.

Overview

And their doom comes swiftly.

It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives – an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school's most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury.

But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.

Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off the from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn't scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?

Okay dude, seriously!! I NEED this. Like right now. Mystery, people getting murdered, abandoned on an island!! Hell yeah. The creep factor of this book sounds amazing, and how awesome is that cover. 1. I know!! I loved Possess so I am really excited to read TEN. We know she can do creepy well, and I am really excited about they mystery element of it. A few years ago there was a mini series on tv called Harper's Island where they all go to the Island for their friends wedding and each person gets killed off. It was a cool show and this book reminds me of that!! I can't believe I have held out so long on reading Pure. I have had the arc for months.

  10. YES. THIS BOOK. O_O Awesomely creepy premise, awesomely creepy cover, awesome (but not creepy) author . . . definitely one I'll need to pick up. We need more horrifying stories in YA. I love when stories can genuinely scare me, and this one looks like it very well may succeed. Fabulous choice. :D

    1. Doesn't it?! There was a mini series on TV that was sort of like this. They all go to an island for a wedding and get killed off one by one. I think I need to see if they have it on Netflix and watch it again. It was called Harper's Island.
