Welcome to my blog tour stop for Endure (Need #4) by Carrie Jones. I am really excited that I was able to take part in this tour. The Need series is fantastic and it is so great to take part in the blog tour for the final book in this series. Today Carried joins me on the blog for a guest post. I also did a review of Endure as part of the tour which you can find in the previous post.
Guest post on what type of shifter Carrie would choose to be
I am ashamed to say this but I am a greedy, greedy person when it comes to supernatural super powers, and if I had to pick one type of shifter it would be almost impossible for me to pick.
Seriously, if God came down from Heaven, pointed at me and said, "Carrie Jones, you must pick one type of animal to shape shift into. Do it now!" I would basically just babble and go, "Um.... a bear... NO! Bears get shot in suburban neighborhoods.... um.... Ah.... A dolphin! NO! Dolphins can only be in the ocean. That would be so wet. An eagle. No... not an eagle, they molt. Don't they? Wait, God, do eagles molt?.... Okay.... okay... Hold on... A cat? No! I do not want to lick myself clean." And I think it would be so frustrating that God would rescind the offer.
So, I think I would like to be like Sam in Charlaine Harris' TRUE BLOOD series. Sam is the king of shifters in that he can shift into any animal. How cool would that be? You could be a robin one minute and a poodle the next. You could be the fox AND the hound. It would be stunningly cool. And it would be perfect for me because I get bored easily. So if I was tired of chewing Milk Bones, I could shift into a manatee and hang out in Florida for a bit. Or if I got tired of that I could go be a Bigfoot and let people take pictures of me to post on the internet and then watch as people said they were hoaxes. It would be amazingly fun.
The truth is that I think too often we confine ourselves to one label: writer, mother, wife, worker, undercover prostitute, blogger, strudel lover. Those labels give our lives a bit of structure and there is comfort in them, but they are so terribly confining. As a person I want to have the biggest, most expansive bunch of identities that I can have. I think that as a shifter I would want that, too.
That is such a fantastic and entertaining way to view things. I totally agree, why confine ourselves to just one label! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog for this guest post. It was an honor to have you.
About the book:
It’s all-out war (and no-holds-barred romance) in the climactic conclusion to Carrie Jones’s bestselling series.
Zara is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing feelings for her pixie king . . .
Unexpected turns, surprising revelations, and one utterly satisfying romantic finale make Endure a thrilling end to this series of bestsellers.
