Jo is very sweet and had a lot of great stories to tell. See You at Harry's came from a very emotion place and it was a very touching story on how the book came to be and how much it changed in the process. She also had some really funny stories about things that happened when she was a kid too. I am so glad to have met her and I can't wait to read See You at Harry's and the other books too.
Jo Knowles talking to the crowd about her book.
I got my picture taken with Jo. She is the sweetest. And how cute is she?
All three books. The covers are so pretty in real life!! (I was so excited that Jo gave me a copy of Pearl!! Now I have all of her books. )
I totally matched my nails to the book cover. Jo loved it. She took a pic and posted it on twitter.
My signed copy of See You at Harry's
Signed copy of Pearl
Signed copy of Lessons From A Dead Girl
She signed my nook cover for me
And now have Jo Knowles signature has been added to the back of my nook with some others. :)
I didn't really get many pics during the signing, but it was really fun. I am so glad that I was able to go and meet her. She is so nice. I really enjoyed listening to her read some parts of the book. She would tell us a story form her childhood and how it was incorporated into that part of the book. If she is doing a signing in your area, definitely go. She is fabulous!

Looks like you had an awesome time! I love book signings. I'm a huge fan...I really need to start collecting signatures on my eReaders!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun!! I love getting to meet authors.
DeleteAmy! What a fun recap. Thank you for the kind words, and for coming to the event!!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Jo
It was so great to meet you and hear your stories about writing the book! :)
DeleteHow fun! I don't get a lot of signings in my area either, so I'm always appreciative. It sounds like you had a nice time. Your nails looked awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks hon!! It really was great. She is so nice!! I am looking forward to the signings coming up in the next two months.
DeleteI love book signings. They are so much fun! The coveer of Pearl is my fave! And nice nails btw! Looks like I've been rubbing off on you. lol I love the idea of having people sign your nook cover. I may have to steal that idea, if and when I ever get a cover for my Kindle. lol Glad you had such a great time! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cover for Pearl. It is so pretty in real life!! Odyssey is having some other pretty cool book signings coming up too.
DeleteI absolutely love book signings! I'm actually going to meet an author at a signing next week, and I've been excited all month! Ms. Knowles sounds like such a nice person. I love that you have authors sign your nook covers, and I'm super jealous that you've met Cassandra Clare!! I'm glad that you had a fun time, Amy. =)
ReplyDelete-Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life
Hope you have fun at the signing next week!! Jo Knowles is super sweet. I was freaking out when I met Cassandra Clare. She lives right in the area actually.
DeleteHow do you find out about somewhat local signings? I feel like there's none around here. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to the Odyssey Bookshop Newsletter, but you can just go on the website and check their events tab. They aren't too far. Just in South Hadley. We could go to signings together!!!
DeleteOh nice! I've heard of the Harry book before but not the others. No one ever comes around here :( My only shot would be to drive 2 hours to go see Kathleen Peacock at her house haha. Which would rock bc she's totally awesome and I loved Hemlock :D
ReplyDeleteLol!! We don't get many. Cassie Clare signed there last year. I guess Holly Black has signed there too. They are both local authors. That would be so cool to go hang out with Kathleen Peacock!!
DeleteSo fun! I love that you are having your Nook signed! LOVE IT
ReplyDeleteJo said that it was her first time signing a nook. I feel so special!! I think most of them are black so they aren't easy to sign.
