Event Recap: Hilary Graham book signing

Hi everyone!! So on Thursday evening I went to a fabulous event with my friend Lauren from Slaying Books. What event you ask? Okay, so you didn't since it's in the title of the blog post, but anyways... We went to meet Hilary Graham, the author of Reunited. It was really fun. It was her first book signing event, and it was really great. It's so much more fun with a friend. We got there a little early, and I was super excited that Hilary actually knew who I was!! I mean obviously she checked out my nails to be sure since I had them painted to match the book for the event, but I felt super cool anyways. I mean how cool is it when an author knows who you are? I'm just an itty bitty book blogger so that was an awesome moment for sure. (I'm glad I changed my twitter AVI back to my face too, that probably helped in recognizing me too.) I am totally babbling here. Sorry. She was super nice and friendly. She's really funny too. It was great getting to know the process in how her book came about and how she got into writing. Did you know she was on a reality TV show too? How cool is that. I have a few pictures from the event that I will show you.

Lauren and I had a really great time. It was fun, and of course it's always nice hanging out with friends. One of the best things happened on the way home. She had come over my house early and was playing with my daughter with some books and stickers, and apparently she had missed one when she removed them. We were about halfway home when I noticed she had a little fish sticker stuck under her arm almost in her armpit. We pretty much died laughing at that. She also just about ripped her skin off trying to pull it off, and although not funny she hurt herself, we couldn't stop laughing about it. 

So that was our night, and it was really fun. Reunited sounds so awesome and I can't wait to read it. Hilary was amazing and I am so glad to have met her. And OMG doesn't she have the best hair ever?! My hair is naturally curly, but not pretty curls like that, mine is monstrous. If you are looking for a really cool author to get to know, Hilary is it. She was so down to earth and it was like a nice comfortable friendly get together.   1. OMG you are too much! I love the nails, that is so cute. And the signing of the nook is such a good idea. It looks like the signing was a success! I can't wait to go to one myself :-)

    1. It was really great. The bookshop is an indie bookshop in a kind of out of the way area, so it was only a few of us. It was nice though, it was more intimate and relaxed.

  2. How great! I love author events, though I've only been to a few. I'm glad it went so well. I hope you enjoy Reunited. I thought it was such a good story.

    Btw, what reality show was Hilary on?

    1. I forgot the name of the show, but it was about screenwriters and stuff I think. It was on Fox and it was only one season.

    1. The sticker thing was so funny!! It was a great event. She was really nice!! I was so excited when I walked up and she was like, "You're Amy right?" I was internally dancing that she knew who I was. I mean, it was obviously the nails, but whatever. ;)

  5. Book signings are SO much fun! I've been to a few in my area, and have loved every single one. And going with friends makes everything SO much more fun. =) I'm glad that you had such a fabulous time, Amy!!

    1. She thought it was cool. When I tweeted her the pic she posted it on her blog. That was how she knew who I was when I got there. She saw my nails lol!!
