Book description:
Sometimes the love our heart needs to heal can be found in the familiar eyes of a childhood friend...
Julie Porter learned the hard way that trust is something which must be earned and not something to be given out lightly, those
who say they love you are those who hold the power to hurt you most,
and best friends can help you survive anything—until they move away.
Nick
Owen knows a thing or two about a hard life. At a young age Nick learned
how to take a hit and to make lemonade out of the lemons life tossed
his way. Returning home after nearly two years of being away, all Nick
cares about now is protecting his mom from the abusive hands of his
father and catching up with his best friend—the girl who lived across
the street, the girl he can’t seem to stop thinking about.
Finally reunited after two
years apart, Nick and Julie are about to learn that age does nothing to
protect you from life’s trials and tribulations, heartache and loss,
but maybe together they’ll find a way to survive.
(Mature Young Adult, contains violence, language, and sexual situations.)

Oh my gosh ! I love that cover ! It sounds like such a great read ! I love love mature YA contemporaries and Unloved looks just too awesome ! I can't wait ! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the cover, Amy.
I have been really enjoying more mature YA contemporary too. This definitely sounds like a great book.
DeleteThe cover is gorgeous! Love the way they are lying and touching hands. <3 Wow, I need more mature YA in my read. There's just something addictive with that kind of book! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, Amy! <3
I think that mature YA tends to have a darker more emotional feel to them. not that regular YA doesn't, but I think it's just deeper with mature reads.
DeleteGreat cover! Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI really like the cover. I love the backdrop of it!!
DeleteI love the term "mature young adult" -- have never heard that before but I think it's such a smart idea! Great review!
ReplyDeleteGoing to go vote for Daemon in the tourney now :)
I like the term too. I think that although obviously we love YA sometimes a great "mature" YA sounds absolutely intriguing.
DeleteReally like this cover - it's different.
ReplyDeleteValerie
Yes, I really like that it's different too. It's nice to switch it up from the typical covers.
DeleteThanks for sharing! I saw this cover on another blog and it looks SO amazing now! :) And being a font-stalker, I LOVE the typeface of the book! ;)
ReplyDeleteI didn't even really notice it before, but I really like the typeface too!!
DeleteYou know me, Amy. I'm such a sucker for contemporary young adult. This book is calling my name!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have become quite a sucker for them too. Lol!!
DeleteI love this cover! It's so cute and refreshing. I feel like there's a lot of "hand holding" boy-girl covers out there but this one's different. I've been wanting to read some more cute, contemporaries and this one bits the bill.
ReplyDeleteI think this one is going to be more of an emotional, gritty type of book, and I really love those.
