Fairy Metal Thunder Read-Along Week 1

I have been meaning to read this series for a while now, but we all know how finding time seems impossible. When I saw that there would be a read-along I decided to jump on board. I can totally manage a few chapters at a time. This week was chapters 1-6 and the questions for this weeks post can be found at The Unread Reader. I am excited to be taking part in this. It's really fun.

Question one is about concerts and our task is to take a pic of a concert tee or vintage band t-shirt. My concert tee is from the Ozzy Osbourne / Rob Zombie concert that I went to in 2008. I love Ozzy and Rob Zombie so I was so excited that they would be joining for a tour. It was the only concert I have been to with my husband and it was really great. I loved the opening band too. In This Moment. They were really good. It was one hell of a show and I was surprised at how long they all performed for. The concert was over 3 hours long.

I had to get my pretty copy of Fairy Metal Thunder in the pics!!

Question two is about the worst chore you have ever had to do. I really can't remember having to do any super horrible chore. I was always pretty willing to help with stuff. I painted, helped build stuff, trimmed the hedges, mowed the lawn. I never had to really do anything too bad I don't think. Does that mean I fail at this question? Lol!

Question three is about something you have lost. I lost a necklace that was given to me and I never found it. It was a heart pendant with diamonds on a gold chain. I have a new one now, but I never did find the old one. So part of this task is to make a reward poster, but I suck and I totally waited until the last minute to do this post so I didn't make one. How about this:

Missing necklace, heart pendant with diamonds on 18k gold chain. Sentimental value. Reward of a five pound bag of gummy bears if found. (Everyone loves gummy bears right?)
Question four is about names and what they mean. It asks if we have any nicknames and how we got them. I don't really have a nickname, but one of my friends from when I was younger could never remember my ridiculously long last name (before marriage it was Crowningshield) so she would call me honkinboink. It was funny and even to this day when she sees me she will still call me that. (It's been like 25 years too, we have known each other a long time)

Question five is about being grounded. My parents weren't the grounding type. They always tried and it would never stick because I would annoy them so bad they didn't want me in the house anymore haha! If I was grounded, it was for a good (or I should say bad) reason. I only remember really being grounded once and I definitely deserved it. Lets just say that me and a few friends were kind of missing overnight. We were 16 at the time I think. Our parents had like 4 different towns police looking for us. We had actually been driving around out in the woods and got stuck. It was dark and we were too afraid to get out and walk and get lost, or eaten by wild animals. None of us had cell phones. (That was back when we all had pagers, not cell phones.) We waited until morning and walked out of the woods and to a friends house and then things weren't great. Lol!!

So those are my answers for week one. Hopefully I do better on week two. Oh, and I am really enjoying Fairy Metal Thunder so far too.

  4. *taps fingers on chin* How exactly did you earn the nickname HONKINBOINK? Sounds a little lascivious =P hehe (I'm a perv! lol)

I never pegged you for a Ozzy and Rob Zombie fan but that's wicked cool :)

Omg, if I had ever disappeared for a night, my parents would probably have destroyed me, lol. They were pretty overprotective back then.

    1. Haha the Honkinboink thing is hilarious!! She just couldn't ever remember my last name so she called me that. I think you would be totally surprised at the variety of music I love. Rap is about the only thing I don't like. OMG! I had never been so scared to face my mother in my life. I wasn't even supposed to drive around with friends. We had all made up this lie that someones parents were picking us up and we were seeing a movie.

  13. I think the nickname honkinboink is probably one of the best I've come across, I want one like that now!

Your reward seems very tempting, who can resist gummy bears, can I have some please?

I don't know how you managed to stay out all night, the 'eaten by wild animals' part made me laugh, lol :)

    1. I love that everyone loves my nickname. Lol!! Of course you can have gummy bears *hands you a big bag* Dude, we pretty much either had to walk through the woods at night, or stay in the van. The back of the van seemed like the best choice. We were still terrified.

  14. Pagers!! I totally remember pagers. I was so excited when I got my first one. It was maroon. I thought I was so awesome. Hahaha!

Oddly enough, I don't like gummy bears, but I'd still be willing to give you back your necklace due to the kindness in my heart. Except, I swear Melissa stole it. O_o ;)

You probably couldn't have paid me enough to get out of that car. I'm the biggest wimp ever. Like seriously, I can't watch scary movies and sometimes I make hubs let me leave the closet light on when we sleep. I rock. LOL!

    1. Yes!! My pager was cute and small and mint green. (shimmery even) I thought I was super cool too. See you totally get why we stayed put. There was no way in the world I was getting out of the van, in the woods, at night. I love scary stuff, but not when I am in the situation.
