Fairy Metal Thunder Read-Along Week 2

Welcome to my blog post for week 2 of the Fairy Metal Thunder Read-Along. Last week was so fun and I loved seeing what everyone else posted. This weeks questions come from Kelly @ Reading The Paranormal

Questions for Chapters 7-13 of Fairy Metal Thunder:

1. Unfairly grounded by his parents, Jason decides to lie to them so he can go to the audition in Minneapolis. Unfortunately, not only does the audition end poorly but his parents discover his lie and things go downhill from there. Tell us the most outrageous lie you've ever been caught in. Bonus points if you can provide pictorial proof. Reenactments eagerly accepted.

This lie goes back to my post last week about the only time I was ever grounded. Me and two other friends wanted to meet up with some boys and hang out. One of them was going to come pick us all up. Each of us told our parents that the others parent was picking us up and dropping us off at the movies. Well we ended up driving around the woods for a while before we picked up the other two guys we were hanging out with and ended up getting stuck. We stayed there until it was light out and then walked out of the woods and found our way to a friends house. Little did we know all of our parents had called each other and they were all together and up all night. They had the police from a few different towns all looking for us. That is why I don't ever lie now. I find that lying does no good. It's better to tell the truth and deal with the outcome right then. Lying always comes back to get you.

2. In Faerie, Aoide is summoned to see the Faerie Queen. Have you ever met someone important like the Faerie Queen? Someone famous? Tell us the story behind how it happened. Once again, pictures are a plus!

When I was 17 and on vacation I met the lead singer from the band Suicidal Tendencies in the hotels gym, but I thought he was just some scum making up a story. I totally blew him off and then found out later that he wasn't lying. I had no clue who the band was or anything so when I got home from vacation I looked it up. I have met Bill Cosby too. He lives a few town over. I think one of my biggest fan moments was meeting Cassandra Clare though. She is totally like a celebrity to me!!

3. Caught lying to his father about his non-existent job at the car wash, Jason has now found gainful employment at Buddy McSlawburger's - where he's forced to wear "the funny hat" as part of his uniform. What's the worst job you've ever had? Did it involve a particularly noxious uniform? Tell us about it - in riveting, full-color detail!

I worked at McDonald's when I was 16. Those uniforms were the worst and I hated smelling like french fries all the time.

4. In an effort to regain their stolen instruments, Aoide and Rhodia travel to the sugar swamp to hire a hunter. Wouldn't you love to live somewhere where the water is sweet and the grass is made of sugar cane? Show us a picture of you enjoying your favorite sweet treat. Or, rewrite history and tell us how your version of the sugar swamp would differ from the one in the book.

I don't have any pictures of me eating my favorite sweet treat, but I love cupcakes. I have a sweet picture of my daughter eating one though. I also love gummy bears and could eat them everyday, but I have no pictures of gummy bears.

 This was her 3rd Birthday.

I can't wait to see all of the other posts from everyone participating in the read-along and scavenger hunt.

    1. I think the guy was okay looking, but I thought it was a random dude trying to act like he was all cool. I'm really enjoying FMT. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series too. I want to bake cupcakes now!! It's already hot today though and I hate baking when it's hot.

  3. LOL- how fun you met Cassandra Claire...:) And how funny that all the crappy jobs are the fast-food ones, I know a few people who love working at them but for me I hated the food industry, the smells, the people...UGH!

    1. I agree. I think the people were the worst. People can be so incredibly rude!!! Cassandra Clare was so great!! I loved meeting her. Even though I was super fan girly she was so down to earth and made me feel comfortable.

  4. Fairy Metal Thunder -- love the idea of combining fairies and a garage band.

And LOVE the story about the random guy who turned out to be the lead singer. You heartbreaker!

I worked at Wendy's. I think our uniforms were worse. And people would come in all the time and say "Where's The Beef" like they were the only one to ever think of that joke.

  6. Ha, love hearing about the fast-food jobs...I actually liked mine, I worked at Subway for a couple months during college. It was open until 2 AM & I did that super-late shift, when all the drunks would come in & give you large tips if you made them laugh.

    1. Seriously, I was like, "Does this dude think I am that stupid?" I didn't work there long only like a month or two I think. It was horrible.

  12. My older sister worked in fast food when she was 16 and after the horror stories she told me I knew to avoid it if possible. Maybe it would be a good dieting technique though since you'd get sick of the smells fast.

  13. hahaha I love these Read-along's! THey look super fun! And OMG I adore cupcakes! The one of your daughter is way too stinkin cute!!! LOVES it! hehe I worked at a resturant as a cook for over a year. I constantly smelled like a french fry or onion ring! lol I swear every time I sweated, I smelled like a big greasy fry. LOL I think it took a solid year after I quit for the smell to finally leave my pores. haha

  14. A friend of mine works in McDonald's and often tells stories of drunks wanting to order Whoppers and Chicken Royales, thinking that they're in Burger King; I wouldn't be able to handle that! Also, CUPCAKES! I need a cupcake and some gummie bears right now!

    1. When I worked there it was because I had to miss my 2nd half of my junior year of HS so I got a job during the school day. ( I missed too many days due to some super crazy family stuff going on, so I couldn't get my credits so there was no reason to be there. Thankfully I was able to get them all in my senior yr and graduate with my class.) I worked during the day so we didn't get the drunks. I still hated it though.

  18. (sorry I'm so late on the commenting, crazy weekend)That cupcake looks DELICIOUS! I love the star candles. Like you, I also love cupcakes.

Cassie Clare is a celebrity to me as well. She never seems to make it to Phoenix, so I'm jealous. Although, I totally fangirled Stephanie Perkins recently. I love her to death. I've been wanting to meet her for ages. I also remember that lying story. I would have been so freaked out in the woods.
