November Monthly Recap

I can't believe that there's only one month left of 2012. It's crazy how fast this year seemed to pass, but I am super excited about the awesome books that are coming out in 2013 so I am happy that it's almost here too!! This month was one of those months where I kept going into mini reading slumps and even though it seems like I got a lot of reading done, a lot of these books were short and there was a few novellas. All the book titles will bring you to my review of the book unless the review hasn't posted yet. I am still trying (quite unsuccessfully) to keep track of the different challenges I am doing.
*Update - I finished The Diviners by Libba Bray last night, so that brings my total to 17 this month!!
**Update #2 - I also finished Trapped by Michael Northrop this evening so Yay Me!! 18 books this month!!

So that's 16 (18 after updates) books added for the month of November, and though it seems like a lot, I didn't feel like I did great. A lot of these were quite short and then the 2 novellas are there. I just felt like November was a tough month for me to really get into books. There were a few that I got lost in, but I really just felt kind of blah about reading in general. I'm hoping December will be better for me mentally.

That puts my total at 169 (171after updates) (My Goodreads total is 175 (177 after updates) due to some short stories and novellas I didn't count on my blog.) Going by what GR tells me, I am at 140% of my goal for the year. I suppose that I am doing awesome with my overall goal.

Though I am no longer doing the Debut author challenge, I am still half keeping track. I had my challenge goal as 11-16 books. I have been suckish about keeping track, but I must be at around 50 or so I think.

For the Sensational Seconds challenge this month I added 1 book. I had a set goal of 5-8 I think so now I am at 17. I think. I could be off since I keep forgetting to keep track.

And yes, still totally failing my TBR Pile Challenge. Once again, I didn't read any this month so my total stays at 5. I don't know why I even keep putting this in my posts. I should just admit defeat.

I guess I didn't really do as bad as I felt like I did, but I just really felt like the books I was trying to read weren't doing it for me. I don't know how many books I started and then put down only to pick up another one and do the same within a few chapters. I had a lot of wasted time trying to read and not finishing books. I would love to know how you did if you keep track. Leave me a link to your recaps if you have them or just tell me about your month in my comments. ♥

  1. Great month for you! "I should just admit defeat." bahah. I say NEVAH! You can do it! HUH HUH HUH! (That was the manly motivation grunt!)

Meant to Be I plan to read soon! And undeadly--that was just a waste of my life seconds! So many that were spent on that book *sobs*

    1. Haha!! No way can I read at least 6 of my books from my TBR pile from last year before the end of the year. That's okay. When I signed up for that challenge my blog was still pretty new and thought I would have a lot of time for my own books. Lol!!

Undeadly... Ugh! 2 nights of my reading time wasted on that book. Then at least a few other days wasted on trying to get into different books and not being able to. I hate that. :( I still did good considering all the time I felt like I wasted though.

  3. You're doing a great job with the challenges and all, Amy! Last month I only read 2 books, which is the saddest thing ever, but I only have a couple of books to read to finish my GR challenge!
Huh, the books I've read lately have been meh for me too! I hope December brings you some better books, but I'm pretty sure you're going to have a good month especially since Opal by JLA is coming out and we all know what a big fan of the Lux series you are! :)

    1. You have a good excuse for lack of reading though. School is definitely very time consuming.
Yes!! I am so excited for Opal!! I am sure I will devour that. Then I will probably be ruined for all other books lol!!

My blog is now an award free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but stopping by is reward enough for me. Thank you so much!!

I love comments! I will try to respond to as many as I can. I read every one of them, even if I do not respond to them all.
