October Monthly Recap

Well, it's November. This year has seriously just gone by so quickly. I feel like it only just started and it's almost over. So it's time for another monthly reading recap where I tell you what I read and how I did on my challenges. I am pretty proud of myself that I have read so much. Two that I didn't put in last months recap I will put in this one.
Holy hell guys!! 17 books this month! I mean, one was a novella, but it was decent sized and the other was a short kids book, but still that's 15 which is awesome!! And I felt like I did really crappy with reading this month.

That puts my total at 153 (though on Goodreads it actually says 158 because of novellas and short stories) So I am at 126% on my goal for the year. I probably should've changed it to 175 like I said last month, but oh well.

Though I am no longer doing the Debut author challenge, I was still keeping track of the debut books I read. I had my challenge goal as 11-16 books, last month my total was at 34. I totally didn't check to see which books I read were debut authors this month. I suck and don't feel like checking now. Either way, I totally blew away my goal.

For the Sensational Seconds challenge this month I added 3 books, 4 if you count the adult book. I had a set goal of 5-8 or something so now I am at 16. For keeping track I will leave out the adult one since I think it's only for YA or MG books.

And yes, still totally failing my TBR Pile Challenge. Once again, I didn't read any this month so my total stays at 5.I should just settle on my failure at this. I set my goal at 11-16 so I know I won't make it to that. *hangs head in shame* I will get my TBR pile down next year. New Years resolution to read at least 1 or 2 of my older books a month. *laughs at myself*

Well, besides failing at my TBR pile reading challenge I think I am doing well. I would love to know how you are doing with your goals and challenges. Leave me a comment or a link. :)

  2. Love your monthly recaps. I should start doing them next year.
I am working on a yearly recap for 2012, which I'm excited about.

17 Books --- that is SO many!!! And I remember you saying you were in a reading slump. Uh, I don't think so!

    1. Haha!!! I totally felt like I was. I DNF'd a lot of books so that's why I felt that way I think. I just had a hard time liking books I was reading. I can't believe how well I did.

  3. You did REALLY good this month, Amy. I am lucky if I can get 12 books read in a month. Part of the problem is that I am easily distracted and can't focus as well as I used to. I had my Goodreads goal originally set at 150 books, but I had to lower it because I knew I wouldn't make it. And last year I went OVER 200! I don't know what is up with me this year. But anyway, I am so happy for you! Great achievement, girl!

    1. Holy hell!! Over 200? You were a reading machine!! I used to only be able to read like 10 or 12 a month. I guess I read faster now. :)

    1. I actually write a list of the books that I have to read for each month and try to stick to it the best I can. I need to start leaving room or scheduling in some "me" books.

  7. Great month! I haven't been reading and reviewing as fast as I would like too. I'm in a bit of a slump. I still have books I finished a few weeks ago that need their reviews edited and finished. Been really busy and just not in the mood lately. I have really failed at my TBR challenge. It is so hard to tackle that when so many new books come out that everyone is talking about. Like dying to try Mystic City, Crewel, and Death and the Girl Next Door.

My blog is now an award free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but stopping by is reward enough for me. Thank you so much!!

I have been getting a ridiculous amount of spam comments so I have disabled anonymous comments. If you are an anonymous user and a real person, I apologize.

I love comments! I will try to respond to as many as I can. I read every one of them, even if I do not respond to them all.
