Top Ten Books in 2013 I'm Pining For

This event is hosted by Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic, Rachel from Fiktshun, Jaime from Two Chicks on Books and Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads. Today is the last day of the week long event and the topic is top ten books we are looking forward to in 2013. There are so many. This list was probably the hardest one yet!! In no particular order I give you my list!

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare

OMG I love this series!! I could seriously read these books over and over again. (And I did re-read Clockwork Angel before Clockwork Prince came out and will re-read both before this one comes out too.) I have never ever been so torn between a love interest. Seriously!! I mean I totally love Jem, but I love Will too. They both would be awesome for Tessa for different reasons. No matter how things end up I am going to be broken I know it. I don't see how she can choose one or the other. I can't wait to see how everything all ends! I think I might die of anticipation!! March seems so far away!

Boundless (Unearthly #3) by Cynthia Hand

I never expected to love this series so much and I am totally pining for the third and final book! Dude!! Clara is at college. With Angela. And Christian... I'm totally Team Tucker BTW. There is no changing my mind. After reading Radiant and getting a glimpse into what happened over the summer in Italy, I am even more excited to read Boundless. Luckily it's only a month away!! Yay!! And, I'm so going to the Dark Days event in Cambridge in February and I get to meet the mastermind behind the series!! SQUEE!!!

Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver

If you have read the first two books you know why I am going crazy needing this one!! If not, you should go get the first two books now. No wait! Get them right before this comes out on March 5th so you can read them back to back, unless like me you are a total sucker for cliffhangers and you love the agonizing torture that the wait for the next book brings. I don't even know myself how I want this one to go. Well, I guess I do, but I'm still confused. I should really read this now so I don't keep beating myself up over it.

With All My Soul (Soul Screamers #7) by Rachel Vincent

This is one of my favorite series so naturally I can't wait for the final book!! After how Before I Wake ended I have been practically pulling my hair out wanting this book. I don't want the series to end, but I am excited to see how Rachel Vincent finishes it all up for us. I know it will be fantastic though. All great things must come to an end so this book will be bittersweet, but I need it!!

Apollyon (Covenant #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
(And Sentinel, Obsession, and Origin. How about just all of JLA's books that come out in 2013. I know that's totally cheating, but whatever!)

I have major love for this series and things got a bit crazy at the end of Deity. And talk about torturous cliffhanger!! I just about threw the book across the room, then screamed into my pillow! Then I read Elixir and that has pretty much made this wait unbearable already. April needs to get here soon!!

The Collector by Victoria Scott

Have you been to the Dante Walker website? Have you heard about all of his awesome?!! Yeah, He's going to be one of those bad boys I totally swoon over. I just know it!! This book sounds awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on it!!

Dare You To by Katie McGarry

I freaking loved Pushing the Limits and I am looking forward to more of Katie McGarry's writing! This book sounds like it's going to be fantastic! It's Beth's book and I really want to know more about her!! I really liked the little bits of her we got in Pushing the Limits so getting her story is going to be awesome!!

Just Breathe (Just Breathe #3) by Kendall Grey

If you have seen my lists this week you already know the love I have for this series so it's no surprise that this is one of my most highly anticipated books of 2013! I am so invested in the characters and the story and I want so badly to know how it ends!!! I know that S%*# is going to get crazy in this last book, but hopefully there will be a great HEA for the characters who deserve it. (Scarlet can go jump in a lake and die a painful watery death!!)

Prodigy (Legend #2) by Marie Lu

Legend was fantastic!! As soon as I finished it I immediately wanted the next book and OMG guys!!! It's almost here!!! Cannot wait to get my hands on Prodigy!!! I feel like I have been waiting forever for it!!!

Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyer

Cinder was one of my favorite books of 2012 so of course I am dying to read the next book in the series!! I am curious about the new addition of characters and where the story in general is going to go. I loved everything about the first book and I am sure I will love this one too!! The anticipation is killer!!!

I do of course have honorable mentions:

(ones I don't have, but would do anything for)
Fuse by Julianna Baggott
Divergent #3 by Veronica Roth
Vortex by Julie Cross
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi (I'm meeting her in Feb too!!)

(ones I do have so it doesn't really count)
Everbound by Brodi Ashton (I get to meet her in Feb too, can you tell I'm excited about the Dark Days event?!!)
Taken by Erin Bowman
Hysteria by Megan Miranda

  1. Amy, I hope you enjoy the Dark Days event in Febuary! I literally died when they came to my local B&N last year- I only had to drive like 10 minutes! It was AWESOME. I got to meet Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows, and Courtney Allison Moulton, and the event was total awesome-sauce. You should be seriously excited to go!! I hope you have the best time ever, and I can't wait to read your recap post for that event. =)

Anyways, I am waiting for so many of these books!! Especially Requiem. I went to a Lauren Oliver book event before having read Pandemonium, and she literally wrote in my book "Don't hate me for the ending!" along with her signature. And then when I read the ending, it totally killed me. SO cruel! I'm also super excited for Boundless. I can't wait to see how things play out for Clara, Angela, Christian, and Tucker, and to see who Clara chooses. Dare to You is also one of my top-anticipated. Even though I don't like the cover, I loved Pushing the Limits and can't wait to see what Katie McGarry has in store for us next. I also feel like we've been waiting for Prodigy for SUCH a long time! I heard it's fantastic though, and we have a month left until it releases, so hopefully the long wait will be worth it.

Phew, so many awesome books! I hope all of these are as amazing as you hope, Amy! <3

  8. So many great series seem to be ending in 2013 *sniff*. Luckily I'm horribly behind on most of them so I'll be reading the whole Soul Screamers and Delirium series next year!

My Top Ten is here if you'd like a look :)

  9. Yes for The Collector, Apollyon, Dare You, Prodigy and Scarlet! I'm dying for to get my hands on those books too because they seem so good!
I would cheer for the other books too, but I haven't read the previous books yet, but I'm going to have to fix that soon! Lauren Oliver's series is one that I'm definitely going to be reading, but I'm waiting to hear what people think of Requiem first so then I won't die of frustration due to the killer cliffhangers I hear that the books have! :D

Hmmm ... I see that you're announcing your love for cliffhangers in public ... AGAIN!

  11. I am drawn to these posts, but then I read them and totally stress because I want to read these too! But I still have loads of 2012 releases I was dying to read that I still haven't gotten a chance to read. I still need to read Clockwork Prince, but I guess that works cause now I can read them closer together and not forget stuff. And she's coming here so I can read them and then get them signed, woo hoo! Scarlet is another I'm dying for and she doesn't live far so I should probably be able to attend a signing (or see her at ALA if she goes).
Yep, too many here I'm dying for too!
