Top Ten of 2012: Best Books of 2102

Hi guys!! Today is the first day of a whole week of Top Ten of 2012 posts. This event is hosted by Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic, Rachel from Fiktshun, Jaime from Two Chicks on Books and Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads. Today the Top Ten is Best Books Read in 2012. These aren't in any order, just some of my favorite books of the year, and I had a really hard time picking which ones. I was fortunate and read a lot of really amazing books this year.

On the Island by Tracy Garvis Graves - This book took me completely by surprise. When I read it, it wasn't a book I would have typically picked up, but I am so glad that I did. Not only is this one of my favorites of the year, but one of my favorites ever!

The Last Bastion of the Living by Rhiannon Frater - You all know I love my zombies, but dude!! This is futuristic and freaking awesome!! In true Rhiannon fashion I became so invested in the characters and their story!

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry - This book was intense, raw, and emotional. I loved every second of it. It was romantic and sexy,  but also had an amazing storyline!

The Diviners by Libba Bray - Although I don't normally read historical novels, I really love the 1920's. Add in a the creep factor and serial killer and it was fantastic!! Yes, this book is a big one, but well worth it!!

Flawed by Kate Avelynn - OMG guys!! This book was a hard book to read. It literally ripped my heart out, stomped all over it, and ripped it into little pieces. I'm not even kidding. I literally physically hurt after reading this book, but I wouldn't change my mind about picking it up again. It covers a number of intense and serious topics, and really brings out the emotion in you. One of my all time favorites!!

The Wild Ones by M. Leighton - Oh how I love Trick!! Besides that he is totally yummy, I loved everything about this book. The storyline, the secondary characters, everything. It was filled with heat, laughs, and some emotional times!!

Cinder by Marissa Meyer - Dude!! Fairytale retelling, futuristic, and totally twisted, yes, yes, and yes!!! Loved this so much!! I also listened to the audiobook of it which was one of the best audios I have heard!!

Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock - Werewolves and mystery!! Loved it! It totally had me second guessing the characters all the time, not knowing who to trust.

Legend by Marie Lu - Holy fantasticness!! I listened to the audiobook of this one and literally couldn't stop. I stayed up all hours of the night listening to this one!! Such a great book.

Inhale by Kendall Grey - This is full of steam, has wonderful world building, awesome storyline, and amazing characters. Even the ones you love to hate!! This series rocks my world!!

Guys I could seriously go on and on, but I won't. I had a lot of 5 star reads this year, but these are among my favorites ever too, not just 2012, they just happened to be read this year and all came out this year. There are other books that I totally loved too that are sequels. I used the sequels as the best of 2012 (our own choice) that will post on Wednesday. So for more of my favorite books of 2012 be sure to stop back for Wednesdays sequels post.
