Cover Reveal: Special Black & White Edition of While He Was Away by Karen Schreck

Hi guys!! Today I am taking part in the cover reveal for the special black and white edition of While He Was Away by Karen Schreck thanks to Sourcebooks. I love the cover, but, I'm a totally sucker for black and white which seems to be the new trend. (I'm glad to be moving on from the girls in pretty dresses trend) I won't keep you waiting. I will show you the original cover and synopsis, then the pretty special edition.

  • Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
  • Publication date: 5/1/2012
One year--he'll be gone for one year and then we'll be together again and everything will be back to the way it should be.

The day David left, I felt like my heart was breaking. Sure, any long-distance relationship is tough, but David was going to war--to fight, to protect, to put his life in danger. We can get through this, though. We'll talk, we'll email, we won't let anything come between us.

I can be an army girlfriend for one year. But will my sweet, soulful, funny David be the same person when he comes home? Will I? And what if he doesn't come home at all?...

That is the original cover, now for the special edition cover!!

So what do you think? I really like both. I think the first one is more romantic and cute looking, where as the special edition looks more like an adult romance than a YA one, but they are both appealing to me. I also love the pink on the black and white!! I would pick up either off of a bookstore shelf though.

  1. I like both although the second one is more steamy!

  2. I saw the new cover in Walmart a few weeks ago. I like it, but I think I like the original more. Which reminds me, I still need to read my copy. Thanks for sharing!

  5. I like both covers. But, I have to admit I'd probably want to read it more if it had the original cover.

The new cover makes it feel more like one of those "cheap" romance books that I wouldn't ever read.

The old cover makes me think it'd be a sweet story about a girl in an LDR that I could probably relate to.

But, overall, I am interested in this book now, because of the LDR aspect. Since I am also in an LDR, I feel like I might could relate. Except that the description kinda makes me feel that she will not be faithful, which is kinda sad.

My blog is now an award free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but stopping by is reward enough for me. Thank you so much!!

I love comments! I will try to respond to as many as I can. I read every one of them, even if I do not respond to them all.
