Waiting on Wednesday 1-2-13

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine  to share what book you are highly anticipating the release of.

This week I am waiting on Earthbound by Aprilynne Pike. I really loved her Wings series so I am interested in reading more of her books.

  • Publisher: Razorbill (Penguin)
  • Publish Date: July 30th 2013
Tavia, the "Earthbound" heroine, is the sole survivor of a plane crash that killed her parents and left her in the keeping of an aunt and uncle. She's safe, she's happy, she should be able to move on with her life.

But... she can't shake the feeling that something's not right- not when she keeps having visions of a beautiful, alluring stranger who wants her to leave her family and flee to Maine, and not when it starts to look like the accident that orphaned her was part of a plot to end her life.

Soon, she's on the run with no one to trust...except the childhood friend she's sworn to love forever, and whose heart she'd have to break to learn the truth about who she is.

It sounds interesting, though I get the impression there will be a love triangle and I don't really care for them much. To be honest what really makes me want this book is the awesome cover and the fact I liked her previous books. What are you waiting on?

    1. It was totally the cover that made me pick it to begin with. It does sound good, but I get the feeling there will be a love triangle. (There's a triangle and two guys in bubbles on the sides of the cover...)

  4. The concept behind this book is so intriguing, though I'm a little tired of love triangles too. They don't bother me as much as they do some readers, but I get irritated if they're there just to create conflict. Fingers crossed that won't be the case here, though! Nice pick. :)

    1. Yeah, I don't mind love triangles if there is a reason for them, but I hate them if they are just there because.

  20. Wow...that cover just comes right at you and grabs your attention doesn't it?! It totally sounds interesting as well, albeit a bit cliché with the probable love triangle. Hopefully it's done well & originally...the rest of it sounds awesome anyways! Thanks for spotlighting this one love ♥

  23. Interesting. I haven't read Wings -- not a huge fan of fairy books -- but I'll try this. Even if it has a love triangle.
