Waiting on Wednesday 2-27-13

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine  to share what book you are highly anticipating the release of.
This week I have two because they both sound awesome and they both have super cool covers!! The first one is The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas, and the second one is Blackout by Robison Wells.

It all began with a ruined elixir and an accidental bolt of lightning…

Iolanthe Seabourne is the greatest elemental mage of her generation—or so she's being told. The one prophesied for years to be the savior of The Realm. It is her duty and destiny to face and defeat the Bane, the greatest mage tyrant the world has ever known. A suicide task for anyone let alone a sixteen-year-old girl with no training, facing a prophecy that foretells a fiery clash to the death.

Prince Titus of Elberon has sworn to protect Iolanthe at all costs but he's also a powerful mage committed to obliterating the Bane to revenge the death of his family—even if he must sacrifice both Iolanthe and himself to achieve his goal.

But Titus makes the terrifying mistake of falling in love with the girl who should have been only a means to an end. Now, with the servants of the Bane closing in, he must choose between his mission and her life.

This just sounds super awesome!! I actually only read the synopsis when I grabbed it for this post. I wanted to read it just for the cover alone, but it really sounds like a great book too!!

  • Publisher: HarperTeen

Laura and Alec are trained terrorists.

Jack and Aubrey are high school students.

There was no reason for them to ever meet.

But now, a mysterious virus is spreading throughout America, infecting teenagers with impossible powers. And these four are about to find their lives intertwined in a complex web of deception, loyalty, and catastrophic danger—where one wrong choice could trigger an explosion that ends it all.

I don't tend to read a lot of books about viruses because I am a super germaphobe and they tend to really creep me out, but this sounds really cool since it's not like a give you the plague virus. I mean a virus that gives you powers!! What?!!! I'm totally dying for this, and that cover!!!! Fabulous!!

Let me know what has you excited this week!! Leave me a link and I will visit you back. :)

  13. I'm a bit skeptical of Burning Sky, only because I'm not big into high-fantasy. Blackout sounds epic! I'm totally adding that one to my tbr.
