Tessa Gray should be happy - aren't all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her.

 My Thoughts

This is one of those books that is so hard to review. I do not want to say anything about the actual events in the book because I know that I avoided any reviews or mentions of this book like the plague until I could finish it myself out of fear of hearing anything about it. I can probably say this is my favorite book of the year so far and it's going to be mighty hard to top!! I have loved this series since the first book and it was bittersweet going into this, but it was so amazing and honestly ended perfectly for me!!

I don't know that I have ever felt so much while reading a book. This book had my emotions on overdrive to the point I would be bawling my eyes out while smiling at the same time. I physically hurt at times reading this and it took me a long time, even for me to get through the book because it was actually too hard to continue at some points. That is all due to how invested in the story and the characters I have become through this series. I knew there would be tears, lots of them. I didn't know how utterly broken and put back together I would be over and over again. I was so nervous about where this book would go and how it would end, and all I will say about that is, it was so amazing what Cassandra Clare has done with this. Even though I was broken to pieces and could feel my heart constricting, I can say this was amazing and beautiful and she has ended the series in such a way that I think it will make everyone happy.

Now onto the audio aspect of it. This was a fantastic audiobook. Daniel Sharman does a great job at putting the feeling into the characters and making them each distinct so you never question who is supposed to be talking at any time. He is flawless at switching back and forth with the accents and made me really feel the atmosphere and settings. The other benefit of the audio is that when the tears were streaming down my face and there would have been no way to continue reading through my tears, I could still listen while I sobbed. If you want the full experience of this book, I highly suggest listening to the audiobook. Don't forget the tissues! This will take you for an emotional ride that will leave a mark in your heart and stay with you!

  1. I am getting realy pumped up to read this book. Tissues, check. Re-read CA and CP, check. Voice to scream and squeal when I finally get the book, check. Clockwork Princess...no. I NEED THIS BOOK! I'm considering the audiobook option now, as then I can just cry and listen at the same time.

So thankful for the spoiler free review Amy! I'm taking up your opinion of listening to this as an audiobook :D

  4. I never would have guessed this would be narrated by a dude. Interesting choice. Glad it worked for you, though! (And that you got the sticker off your print copy... ;))

    1. Haha!! That damn sticker pissed me off. I really loved this audio. The first two were narrated by Ed Westwick I believe, so they have all been by a dude.

    3. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he did the first two. Wonder why he didn't do the third one? Not that I'm complaining, Daniel Sharman was awesome for it.

Oh wow this one sounds like it totally pulled at your emotions and we all know those are my favorite kinds of reads :-) I actually saw that my Costco has all the books in this series in hardcover for like $10.99 each and I debated buying them but I wasn't too sure if I would like them. 12. I just finished this book last night and it took me a long time to read too because it was just so emotional! I did absolutely love the ending though and the epilogue made the story for me =) I think I might have to pick up the audio version just so I can hear this Daniel Sherman fellow!

  13. I cried so much! Jem is just the most wonderful character ever. I still loathe Will like the evil incarnate I find him to be but I really enjoyed Will & Jem's relationship in this book even though I still think Jem is the better friend. But overall I'm happy with the ending. I know people have really mixed feelings about the epilogue but I'll take what I can get!
