Triss and Logan’s love is becoming stronger by the day as they harness the powers between them, but will that make them blind to the evil they’re facing?

After uncovering startling information about her family, Triss is determined to right the wrongs of her ancestors. Triss and Logan uncover who has infiltrated the covens across the globe, and they realize the plans of the dark side are far more sinister than they’d ever imagined.
As the power of this hidden world is exposed, Triss learns her role in the covens. With Logan, Dace and Bakula’s assistance, Triss is now able to fully realize the abilities her ancestors have given her.
It won’t be long until the dark forces regain their strength, especially as their leader, Eben, continues his quest for a power that can never be revoked. Triss must stop him before it is too late.

My Thoughts

Going into the third book of a series, the reviews get harder to do. I really enjoyed this one and I thought that where the story went was fabulous. Triss and Logan are determined to fix things and save the world after discovering that her grandfather is just about as evil as they come. New discoveries make things even more complicated and they don't know who they can really trust except for each other.

Triss is going through all sorts of stuff in this. She is changing and learning more and more things about her family. She is trying to come to terms with a lot of things and all the while she is fighting to keep her, Logan, and their families and friends safe. They are being hidden away, but it's never really a break. All she wants is a little bit of time with Logan without having to worry about everything else, but being constantly attacked and on the run isn't giving them much couple time. I like that she is strong enough to know that their love can survive anything, but hate that she keeps doubting herself and thinking every person who gets hurt or has to do horrible things is her fault. She does a lot of growing in this, but for a lot of the book she was having quite an internal struggle with herself and what the future holds.

Logan is really a great guy!! He is there for Triss no matter what. He will risk himself for her, and does, over and over again. He just wants to love her and protect her, not only from what they are facing, but from herself. She can really be her own worst enemy and he is always trying to make her see past the bad things and to focus on the good. He is willing to face down his own dark side just so she will never have to cross that line of magic, no matter what. He is so absolutely in love with her and just what she needs.

There is a lot of action and some twists thrown into the mix with this book. All sorts of new things about Triss come out, and we see a different side of Logan. I liked how their relationship isn't always easy either like so many in books tend to be. They have their issues and they work them out. What I loved the most was even when they are fighting or angry at each other, making sure the other is safe was still their number one priority. The love they share is strong and sweet. It makes them stronger and gives them a weakness. So many of their situations stem from their love for each other, but it puts a lot of emotion into the story and I really enjoy it. I love where the story is going and I can't wait for the final book in this series!!

  1. I really need to read this! My favorite aspect of the series is definitely Logan and Truss' relationship. I love how they manage to talk out their issues, and know that despite everything, they love and respect one another. Great review, Amy!

    1. Yes, I think that it's important that their relationship isn't always perfect. They do have to work at it, but they love each other unconditionally so it works.

  2. Reviewing series books is totally a pain! You either have to be like SPOILERS FOR BOOKS ONE AND TWO or you can't really talk about ANYTHING, except in the most general, practically useless terms. Sigh. There's really no good way to do it. Also, generally no one reads them. Poor series books.

I love the name Logan for a love interest. *coughs* Logan Echolls *coughs*

    1. Series books don't get a lot of review love! It's hard. I always try to make my reviews spoiler free, but sometimes it's almost impossible. Then people see the spoiler tag and run away lol!!

  4. It's hard to review book 2, 3 etc eh? I find myself mostly repeating stuff and adding a few things. I remember reading book 1 of this series but I can't really recall much from it it was so long ago. Sounds like the series gets pretty action packed and the romance sounds awesome, too!

    1. What I like about this series, is that even though there's paranormal elements to it, it really keeps realistic with the relationships, emotions, and interactions for the most part. It is very believable, with the exception of shooting fire and such things lol!!

  5. I have heard a lot of good things about this series. I'm hoping one day I can manage to fit it in. I know what you mean about reviewing later books in series. They are hard to review cause you don't want to spoil anything.
