Book Girls Don't Cry - Favorite Reading Spots

Hello my awesome lovelies!! This weeks topic on Book Girls was favorite reading spots and snacks which was suggested by Siiri of Little Pieces of Imagination. She totally rocks so you should check out her blog. So I will show you some of my favorite reading spots, and things that I like to have while reading.

Other BGDC Posts This Week

My most typical reading spot is my couch. I like my pillows and blankets. And it's a really comfortable couch.

Generally this is what the back of the couch looks like. A pile of books, snacks, ipod for audiobooks, and my kindle. (And the TV remote. Stupid TV distracting me.)

In the warm weather, I love lounging outside to read. This chair is awesome!!

See, working on my tan while I get some reading done!!

Can't forget snacks while reading!! Nice healthy grapes for outside reading.

Then in the evening I like a beer once in a while with a bowl of guacamole chips!

And most days, I like tea or coffee in my favorite mug. I have it in green too.

And I like to have reading buddies once in a while. The zombies came with the coffee mugs!

My reading devices!! My nook is ancient, my kindle is pretty new.

This has also become one of my favorite reading spots. Yes, that is Robert Downey Jr.'s autograph. I can't stop looking at it!!

Usually I like coffee or tea while reading, but some nights, I just want a nice glass of wine.

I always have to have snacks and a drink while reading. Most of the time it's tea and pop corn. I also love gummy bears and eat way too many of them. When it's nice out I love to read in the back yard, but my couch is definitely my favorite spot. It's so comfy and I love it. I sit at my computer and read a lot too since I don't have a laptop. I like to be able to tweet and check my email without killing my phone battery. I meant to take more pics, but I was just taking a lot of pics of food, so I decided this was good. I love to snack, but I didn't think you needed to see all of it. What are your favorite reading spots?

  1. Your couch looks super comfy! And I have one of those lawn chairs too, it's the most legit thing on this planet...

  2. I read on my super-comfy sofa, in bed, curled up in the front seat of my car (I'm always late everywhere, so reading in the car is my reward for arriving early), and in a comfy chair my husband put in his office so I can hang out while he writes. That's really it, other than the airplane.

I've got mad chaise envy; that shit looks so comfy.

  3. Ah, you framed it! YOU GO GIRL! This is SO worth framing ;-) I love reading outside while sunbathing, but as it often happens, it's not a great weather during the weekends -.- (the proof is outside looking at me. shit.) I work during weekdays or have to finish my internship so when I have free time on weekends, the weather seems to decide to be a dickhead. Yay. I see that you 3 all love zombies :-D I love that trend as well and even though I'm a big coward, they're intriguing and pretty darn awesome. Mostly I read in my bedroom or in the living room or outside on our terrace. I usually don't drink anything alcohol-ish, but I know my Mom likes to have a beer or something light at times as well. I do eat strawberries, cherries, watermelon etc during summer though and during winter I love to drink tea oor hot chocolate with oreo alike cookies ;-) It's so great to see other people's reading habits. Thanks for sharing, Amy!! :-)

    1. Thank you for suggesting this topic. It was so fun to go about my week and take pics when I was getting ready to read.
Of course I framed it!! It needed to be framed. It now sits on my computer desk where I can see it all the time. :)
I am a big tea drinker. Even in the summer. I just like to have a cup of tea because it's soothing.

  4. *Saves picture of signature* Totally worth framing :P But when I first saw that picture of that pink cushion, I thought it was a life sized donut. I literally started squealing until I realised what it actually was. *le sigh* and grapes! I love grapes- they are strangely addictive. Lol.

Thanks for sharing, Amy! Fantastic post. <33

    1. Haha!! That is actually a nursing pillow. It is great for propping myself up better though, and my daughter is 4 now so it is way past serving its purpose lol!! Grapes are so yummy!!

    1. Thanks babe!! I just tried to take pics this week whenever I was getting ready to sit and read. I like to lay on a blanket outside sometimes too even though I have comfy lounge chairs.

    1. My pleasure. I thought it was a fun post. I totally forgot to add the chair in my daughters room. That's a great spot too. And my elliptical machine. I do a lot of reading (and listening to audiobooks) while working out.

  7. I need to have lots of pillows and blankets when I read too. I like to be comfortable. Unfortunately, living in a dorm means I don't get to lounge outside and read.
I love your excitement over your RDJ autograph, Amy! I would totally fan girl for weeks too if ever I got to see him in real life!
Thanks for sharing the fab posts, Amy!

    1. Thanks Nick!! I seriously just sit here at my computer desk and stare at that autograph sometimes lol!! Lots of pillows and blankets are a must! I can't read inside without being snuggled under a blanket.

  8. See, this is why we're friends. I love tea. I love reading outside. Grapes are the perfect reading snack --no crumbs, no spills. And nothing like a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Jen @ YA Romantics

  9. Erg, I'm so jealous you got Robert Downey Jr.'s autograph. I would do anything to get one of those! Anyway, I wish I had your reading spot outside though! It looks quite peaceful!(:

  10. OMG GUACAMOLE CHIPS ARE A THING?

Buying those. Immediately. And I wish I had a comfy and specific reading spot. I'm a sporadic spot reader--it's really never in any specific place. I really should change that. I read all three of your posts and I was very jealous that you all had an awesome reader setup.

  11. Your couch does look comfy! I love all your pics! Those Guacamole Chips look good! I used to have the first generation Nook, and loved it! I use tablets when I'm reading, but I really want to get a Kindle Paperwhite! Thanks for sharing!

  12. I want the lounge chair!!!! I have a snuggle chair in my office where i read but nothing outside. Might have to change that.

  13. Nice reading spot. I usually read on the couch or the bed.

  14. HA! I love the RDJ signature all framed up. It's funny how our drink of choice changed to alcohol once dinner time comes and goes. Actually today, being Canada day and +30 outside (which is ridiculous for here) I think the alcohol may be ok once lunch passes! Ahhh screw it, I'll be honest. There is Bailey's in my coffee right now.

  15. Your couch looks mega comfy and I want to snuggle up on it! The couch is my favorite reading spot too but in the Summer I'm like you: working on my tan in the yard with a good book ♥ Loving your lawn chair too!! I also always have beverages when I'm reading though mine are usually water and/or tea (and more often than not both) Thanks for sharing your awesome reading spots & habits hun

  16. Thanks for all the great pictures. I love snacks and drinks while reading too. The outside chair looks great, reminds me of lawn chairs good for tanning as you mentioned. I haven't had a good guacamole dip in so long. And yes, big pillows are great for reading.

    I LOVE your zombie mug!
