Blog Tour: Pretty When She Destroys (Pretty When She Dies #3) by Rhiannon Frater - Review & Giveaway!

I am so excited to be kicking off the Pretty When She Destroys blog tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tours! I loved the first two books, and the novella, so it was only natural that I would have to read this one!

Amaliya Vezorak always believed she was destined to live a failed life in obscurity until she was brutally murdered by an ancient vampire named The Summoner and reborn as a powerful vampire necromancer. Now it is up to her to save the world…

My Thoughts

Wow guys!! Talk about freaking intensely awesome!! Rhiannon Frater just has a way with her books. Through the story I have come to love the characters and the relationships they have with each other. This was full of twists, action, some good creepiness, and of course some humor. It had everything to keep me engaged and wanting to know how it all ended up. I also loved how Frater was able to factor in the Mayan Calendar/End of the World thing into the story too. I thought that was pretty fun and worked so well with the things going on.

Amaliya is in for the fight of her life in this. Except that the stakes are high and the world is in danger. She may very well be the only way to save it. Talk about high expectations right. The good thing is, she is out for revenge on The Summoner and is determined to not let anyone else die for her in this battle. She will do whatever she can to take him down for good. She has found happiness in her life and she will not let the summoner take that from her, and she won't let him take over the world. Amaliya has always been really tough, but in this she totally ups her bad a$$ factor. She's scary on a good day, but piss her off and she is terrifying!! My love for her really grew in this.

All of the rest of the characters were great too. I have loved Cian since the beginning and he has only gotten better for me. Also, I loved the relationship between Sam and Amaliya. Though they started off on a bad foot, they really came to care for and appreciate each other. I loved their very humorous affection toward one another too. I loved getting to know Cassandra and Aimee better too. They were some of my favorite characters to read about. The way that they all worked together and had different relationships with each other was fantastic. It was so real with how they would bicker, but still have that friendly affection. Even characters who don't get along knew that they needed to work together for the sake of humanity.

This series as a whole has been so amazing, and this last installment was a really great conclusion. Things were really messed up in this one, and we were thrown for quite a few loops. It was thrilling, creepy, gory, and fantastic!! Things were go, go, go in this. Just the way I like it. I was on the edge of the seat and holding my breath for the majority of this book. Since I was emotionally invested in the characters, everything that happened had such an impact on me. This is one author who is auto buy for me! Her characters and stories never fail to draw me in! Though I am sad to see this story come to an end, I will be looking forward to all of her other books!!

  2. Wow! Another 5 stars rating for a Rhiannon Frater book? She must be plain awesome!
Your review makes me want to start this series asap, but atm I have way too many books to read. Maybe I'll buy it and keep it to read over Christmas break.
I love the sound of the MC. She truly sounds badass and I like how she's so determined. The secondary characters also sound like they are well-fleshed out. I'm glad that this conclusion was a success for you, Amy!
    Fabulous review as always! :)

    1. I feel like Rhiannon can see into my brain and know exactly what I love in a book lol! *peers around*

She really makes sure you know all of the characters well, not just the main character. That makes every decision and emotion felt in the book so much better because you feel it all around!!

  12. An auto-buy author? That's huge! While I have heard about the awesomeness of this author and this series, I haven't felt the urge to read it. Your excitement definitely gave me a push to the other direction though. I like that the MC is such a strong kick-ass character and shows her true strength in this novel. Plus, I like my Revenge (show) ;) I'm so happy this pulled you in completely and got you so emotionally invested. Lovely review, hon!
