Garrick Taylor and Bliss Edwards managed to find their happily-ever-after despite a rather . . . ahem . . . complicated start. By comparison, meeting the parents should be an absolute breeze, right?

But from the moment the pair lands in London, new snags just keep cropping up: a disapproving mother-in-law-to-be, more than one (mostly) minor mishap, and the realization that perhaps they aren't quite as ready for their future as they thought.

As it turns out, the only thing harder than finding love is keeping it.

My Thoughts

I love Bliss and Garrick, so I was so excited to get a novella that gives us more of them!! I love how awkward Bliss is, and how swoon worthy Garrick is. I thought it was great that we get to see more of the not so perfect side of their relationship when they go through some stressful moments.Seeing Bliss in a new situation and getting to see what Garrick's home life is like was so fun and entertaining. We really get to see a whole new side of both of them.

Bliss is so nervous about meeting Garrick's mother, which I can totally understand. She is so posh and kind of terrifying. Even still, a meet the parents situation is always scary. Especially when traveling to another country. Bliss is as always, her awkward self, but she puts her acting skills to use and makes it go a little better than she thinks it will go. That is until something unexpected comes about. I think she handles herself really well in the situation. The one thing that I hated was that she doubts whether she is good enough for Garrick and can fit in with his life. That's just her though. She has her insecurities, and she has her strengths. She finally just trusts her love and her life with Garrick and it made me happy that she finally was able to just know that they were it for each other, and they are getting married.

Garrick was so swoon worthy in Losing It, but wow does he take it to a whole new level in this. He will do anything for Bliss, not matter what it is. I loved getting to know the other side of him from his old life. He's from a wealthy family and they don't agree with the choices he's made. He only hopes that they can see how happy Bliss makes him, and if not, he doesn't care. She is his life now and he wants to start his life with her. I really felt bad for him that his parents are so about what he should do, and not what he wants to do in life. It really gave me a whole new perspective on him and made me love him even more.

This was filled with the good humor and sexiness of the other books in this series. It brings them to a whole new part of their relationship and tests their limits. It lets us get to know Bliss and Garrick a little more, and how they are outside of trying to start a relationship together. They are still the same people, just more comfortable with each other and able to go a bit out of their comfort zone. What is apparent beyond anything else is their love for each other. I really hope we get more of them down the road, either in another novel or even a novella. They have worked their way into my heart and I really feel happy for them that they have found such a great strong love in each other. I am hooked on Cora Carmack's books and I need more of them in my life!!

  1. I have read a lot of reviews on this one because I'm still not sure whether I want to get it - not a huge fan of novellas, still wasn't quite sold on Garrick - but more and more that feeling is eroding. I particularly like what you wrote here: "his parents are so about what he should do, and not what he wants to do in life. It really gave me a whole new perspective on him and made me love him even more." That I can sympathize with a lot, and if that's a part of Garrick? Well, that could make his sections a lot more meaningful for me personally, and that's not something the other reviews pointed out. I have heard a lot of the same about him being very supportive and stepping up the swoon in this book even while Bliss has her insecurities and awkward, funny moments again. And now... well, maybe it's finally time to go to that Amazon page and actually get this book. I liked her other two--why not?!

(I also hope the previous couples make cameos in the upcoming Finding It. That'd make for fun for whatever situation Kelsey's in :D).

  3. I just finished reading this one and I adored it too!
I love how cute Bliss was getting nervous about meeting Garrick's parents. And that vase scene? Typical Bliss! :D
Garrick was already swoon-worthy. He was somehow even more swoon-worthy in this book.
I'm happy that enjoyed this too, Amy! :)

  8. I feel like I need to get myself this! I loved Losing It and Faking It so much! I'm glad that this little one was just as good! And talk about the pressure of meeting the parents taking a new turn. I've never thought about having to travel to a different country to meet someone's parents before, but I guess that's how it would have to be!
