The A to Z Bookish Survey

Hey guys!! So I've seen a few people do this awesome bookish survey that Jamie @ The Perpetual Page Turner created and I wanted to join in the fun! It actually took me quite a while to do. I actually really had to work my brain for this lol!!

Author you’ve read the most books from:

Oh goodness. I think Dean Koontz. I was very into thriller books before I got back into YA a lot. I have probably read like 20-30 of his books. I still love his books and get excited when a new one is coming out.

Best Sequel Ever:

Wow, this is a hard question. Maybe The Eternity Cure. I loved the first book, but the second book was just really amazing!!

Currently Reading:
I'm reading a few books. I am reading The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron, Thin Space by Jody Casella, and listening to The Unidentified Redhead by Alice Clayton.

Drink of Choice While Reading:

It depends on what time of day. I do most of my reading at night and I usually have a cup of tea, but during the day if I read I have cherry coke, coconut milk, or tea.

E-reader or Physical Book?

I think for me it's easier to read on my kindle or nook, but I love physical books.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:

I don't really think I would have dated any of them. Well, actually probably Daemon Black for the Lux series. I would give him a run for his money. Lol!!

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
On The Island by Tracey Garvis Graves. At the time it was a book out of my typical reading comfort zone, but I decided to join the blog tour for it. It is one of my favorite books I have ever read!

Hidden Gem Book:

This is a tough one. I have read a lot of books that I think are hidden gems. I don't think I can choose just one.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:

I don't think I have one defining moment, but I as far as getting me into blogging, I think that it was when I joined the Google group for The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices and I discovered Mundie Moms. From there I found out about a whole bunch of book blogs and decided to start my own so my friends didn't have to listen to me talk about books all the time.

Just Finished:

Every Shattered Thing by Elora Ramirez and I am seriously broken from that book. It was amazing, disturbing, and so heartbreaking!!

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:

I'm not a religious person, so I tend to stay away from books that are heavy on religion.

Longest Book You’ve Read:

I think Under the Dome by Stephen King. That book is ridiculously huge, but it was good!! That was before I started blogging.

Major book hangover because of:

I don't think I have ever suffered major book hangover. Usually I finish books at night so by the time I wake up and then start reading a book the next day, my feelings are mostly stable again if it was a book that really had an impact on me. I find I have a harder time with books when I keep reading books that aren't so great rather than when they are super good.

Number of Bookcases You Own:

This is going to be a total blogger fail for an answer, but I only have one. Most of my books are in storage bins because the the hubs doesn't want bookshelves all over the house. I am making a library in one of our spare bedrooms in our house though. Then I will have lots of pretty shelves full of my books!

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:

I'm cheating on this one because it's not just one book, but the Harry Potter series. I have read that series so many times. I started the series when only the first two were out so every time a new one came out, I would read the previous books all over again so I would be ready for the next one. I read the whole series again right before Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 came out in the theater, but that was the last time I did. I want to read them all again, but we all know that blogging schedules make it hard to do that.

Preferred Place To Read:

When it's nice weather I love reading out in my back yard. When it's not, I lay on my comfy couch in my living room.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:

I can't choose just one. I am such a quote junkie! I have so many highlights in my kindle from quotes that I love!

Reading Regret:

I can't really say that I have any. I think my only regret is not having enough time to read everything that I want, but there is nothing I can do about that.

Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):

The Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent!! I have read all except for the last book, which I pre-ordered because I swore I was reading it the second it came out!

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:

I am really bad with this favorite stuff. I can't choose just three.

Unapologetic Fangirl For:

Anything Jennifer L. Armentrout or Rachel Vincent.

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:

Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout!! I swear I am dying inside waiting for it!! I need to know how it all ends!

Worst Bookish Habit:

Starting like 5 books at the same time? No, probably reading half of a book then never finishing it. I have done that quite a few times this year. It's not that I'm not enjoying it, but I will have a tour book that I need to read, or a book that I need to get the review up for soon, then never get back to the one I was reading before. I have also been really impatient this year and have DNF'd a lot of books really quickly too.

X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:

I don't have any books on my lonely shelf right now because I am trying to reorganize. On my piles on my computer desk shelf it would be Blackout by Robison Wells though.

Your latest book purchase:

A signed paperback copy of Wait for You by J. Lynn. It should be here any day!! I have it on both nook and kindle, but I needed a physical copy! Technically it's not my latest purchase because I pre-ordered it a while ago, but it's the most recent to be coming into my possession.

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):

Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I think I stayed up until 2am to finish it. I normally crash by 11 or 12 at the latest.

That was hard, and fun!! What do you think of my answers?

  1. I'm loving these A-Z surveys I'm seeing on everyone's blogs. It's so much fun. I read a ton of Dean Koontz too before I started blogging and still try to read some when I get the time.
    Thanks for sharing, Amy! :)

    1. Me and favorites just don't work. I am too indecisive to choose favorites for almost anything.

  3. I liked your Daemon Black answer. I'm glad you gave On The Island a chance too. Great book. I love Rachel Vincent too and still need to read the last two books in the SS Series. I feel ashamed. lol If you haven't read her Shifters Series, definitely work it in. I think it's my favorite of hers. This was fun!

    1. Oh, I read the Shifters Series. I love it!! One of my favorite series I've read. I still need to finish the Unbound series. I only read the first one. I started the second, but don't even have the third one.

  6. Oh sweet, glad you did this survey too Amy :D I am SO with you on waiting on Sentinel, all the LA love, and re-reading the HP series over and over again LOL! I also prefer drinking tea but YUM Coconut Milk ♥ I read outside too in nice weather OR on my couch when it's rainy or cold. Love your comment about giving Daemon a run for his money haha

  7. I have unintentionally DNF'd a lot of books too. I have the same issue, I have something I NEED to read and so I have to set one aside and then don't get back to it. I figure it wasn't that great anyway if I'm not dying to pick it up again.
I love reading these surveys! I'm no good at picking favorite either.

  8. I know how much you love Jennifer L. Armentrout so I'm glad she made it onto the list a few times. I feel like I should finish the Soul Screamers series too, I don't think I ever read past the first two or three books. I totally agree about the DNFing issue though, especially when it comes to me-books. It's just so much harder to find the time now!

Fantastic post, Amy!! Thanks for sharing :) <33

  9. Love this post! I so have to read On The Island and dude Under the Dome - the show looks SO good I really want to read it. But his books are SO freaking long like what is it over 1,000 pages I bet?

Lolz "Preferred Place To Read" reminded me of your stalker at the mall in Boston! Hahaha

Wow lots of JLA on this list! ;)

Oh I am bad about starting 5 books at once LOL. I was bad at DNFing last year but this year it seems I've either hit less shitty books or I'm more patience? Probably less shitty books lol.

  10. Dean Koontz was one of my options too. I read A LOT of his books when I was a teen.

I also love The Eternity Cure!

    The Dark Unwinding is awesome.

I ALSO picked Under the Dome!

NO book hangovers for me either.

I also picked the Soul Screamer series! What up, bookish twin?

My blog is now an award free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but stopping by is reward enough for me. Thank you so much!!

I have been getting a ridiculous amount of spam comments so I have disabled anonymous comments. If you are an anonymous user and a real person, I apologize.

I love comments! I will try to respond to as many as I can. I read every one of them, even if I do not respond to them all.
