Urban Fantasy Lovers

The Shifters Series by Rachel Vincent

Just thinking about this series makes me want to go back and read it again. I am a huge Rachel Vincent fan, but this is most definitely my favorite series of hers.

Gritty, Emotional, Dark Contemporary

Flawed by Kate Avelynn

This book had me a wreck!! I loved the emotional impact it had. It has very dark subject matter, but oh my God the feels!!

New Adult

The Edge of Never by J.A Redmerski

I loved this book!! The writing is fabulous and the story is amazing!!

Middle Grade

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani

What a fantastic and magical story. I especially love the girl power element of it!!

There are way too many awesome YA books to even try to come up with something less than 10 recommendations lol!! Anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout for sure. I also love Rachel Vincent, Lisa Burstein, Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, Tahereh Mafi. I could go on and on. Anyways, books are great, we all love them, we should spread the love by gifting them to others!! Happy Holidays book lovers!!

  1. Fun topic! My friend Jessica actually gifted me the entire Shifters series a few years ago. Books are my favorite gifts to give.
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. I LOVE SHIFTERS!! Such a great series.

  3. Flawed has been on my list for a while and I just picked up a copy of The School of Good and Evil because I have heard such good things about it. The hard part about buying books for others is that I end up buying books for myself too. :)

  4. So I've never read the shifter series - I know total blogger fail. Great post.

  5. I have that Rachel Vincent series on my Kobo but I still have to read it. I'm actually hoping to get to it just after the new year, so I'm glad you like and recommend it! I loved her Soul Screamers series :)
Jennifer L. Armentrout is another great one whose books I'm getting into :)
    Thanks for some recommendations!

  6. I have The School for Good and Evil. I cover lusted the hell out of this book. Now I just need to read it.

    1. It was so good!! I hope that when you get a chance to read it, you love it!!

  7. Oh I remember your review for Flawed and how much you loved that one <3 I'll definitely need to remember to look for it next time I'm in a book store because I haven't been reading a lot of gritty contemporaries so far and I feel like I should :)

  8. Loooove Rachel Vincent! Her books are AMAZING!!!

  9. Ooh, I remember you recommending The Shifters series to me and since then I've heard other really great things about them so I NEED to get them in my life soon!! Definitely agree with you on the School for Good & Evil - that was such a fun book and I think it could appeal to a lot of different readers! Oh, and don't worry about not visiting much hun, I've been sucking pretty bad on my end too :( Works been keeping me busy and cutting into my reading/blogging time but I'm working on finding a balance LOL Anyways miss ya, hope your holidays were amazing and that you got tons of bookish goodies :D

My blog is now an award free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but stopping by is reward enough for me. Thank you so much!!

I love comments! I will try to respond to as many as I can. I read every one of them, even if I do not respond to them all.
