This book is a stand-alone A LITTLE TOO FAR novel.

"Every page is deliciously breathtaking, wickedly sexy and sensational. A LITTLE TOO HOT is wonderfully unique and a LOT HOT! I am a HUGE Lisa Desrochers fan." --KATY EVANS, New York Times bestselling author of REAL

If you play with fire…

Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.

Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.

Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

My Thoughts

Hot, dangerous, sexy, and awesome!! Those are a few of the words to describe this book. The characters were fantastic, the story was interesting, and the chemistry was off the charts!! This was more like a mystery/thriller than a typical NA book and I thought that made it really great! I really liked getting sucked into the story and wondering when and if they would finally get to the bottom of things. With hidden crimes and danger lurking around every corner, it kept me turning pages frantically until the end!

Sam was a character who annoyed me at times with all of her self loathing, but she was also really great. She had always had things easy until recently so I can see why things were so hard for her. She is not the most responsible person, and doesn't really want to take responsibility for her actions. She is easy to blame others around her for everything and it takes her a while to see that maybe it's not really their fault. She is insanely attracted to Harrison and they have some massive chemistry, but there are things that keep them from giving into their obvious desires.

Harrison was swoon worthy, but I also had my reservations. He does have a secret, but we don't discover how deep his past is for a while. Yes, we discover his secret early on, but not everything about him. Discovering the real him was fantastic! Even while deceiving, he was still someone who I liked. I understood his reasons, and why he did what he did. I really liked the emotional ride that it caused in both him and others around him too.

The romance was of course hot!! Even just slight brushes of the skin or close contact was enough to boil water!! It made me just want them to take it further. I wanted to know how much more explosive their heat could be. Man, that makes me sound like such a perv, but really, it was that great! They were so attracted to each other, but also kept pushing the other away. In the situation, they really had to so it made it that much more sizzling. It was like you could cut the tension in the air. Sexual and emotional.

This was a quick read, and the instant lust was there, but the real romance and feelings were a growing thing. The book spans over a pretty good period of time to make the feelings that they have believable. Especially with how things happen. There is an urgency to everything, and always something else making things even more threatening. I did figure mostly everything out ahead of the reveals, but I thought it was done amazingly well with the mystery and thrill of things. Being a huge fan of NA books and thrillers, this was a perfect combination that set it apart from so many other NA books out there. Lisa Desrochers is quickly becoming a must read, must buy author for me!!

  1. I'm so glad you enjoyed this, Amy. I liked it a lot too, but I think Lexie's story is always going to be my favorite. This was definitely better than Hilary's story though and I loved that twist. I honestly didn't expect it. And yes, they had so much chemistry together! I was most definitely waiting for them to get it on! LOL! You're not alone!
    Great review, Amy!

    1. Haha!!! I was like "OMG just do it already!!!" I didn't read the second book, but I loved the first one, and was really excited for this one. I still plan on reading the second one sometime soon.

  2. I've been seeing a lot of positive reviews for this one! A hot romance is always a fun aspect of the book to have and it looks like this is one of the cases where instant lust works out and adds to the book. Great review, Amy! <33

    1. The insta lust definitely worked for this one. Especially with the situation as it was. I thought that it really added to things when they were trying to stay away from each other.

  3. Insta-attraction that turns to love is okay with me. Glad you enjoyed it. I loved it.

  4. Excellent Review Amy! I really loved this book, and agree that the combination and steamy romance brought something new to the New Adult genre! You don't sound like a perv. I totally felt the same way!

  5. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed in this book. There were some areas where I felt were just too rushed.

  6. I loved this one! I was surprised that I liked Sam as much as I did. :) Glad you liked it.
